Bill and Hillary Clinton Subpoenaed in Congressional Epstein Investigation

Bill and Hillary Clinton Subpoenaed in Congressional Epstein Investigation
Washington, D.C. — August 6, 2025

In a significant development out of Capitol Hill, former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have officially been subpoenaed by the U.S. House Oversight Committee. The subpoenas are part of a growing investigation into the federal government’s handling of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking case and alleged institutional failures surrounding it.

According to official sources, the subpoenas were authorized following a July 23 vote by a Republican-led House subcommittee. The motion, introduced by Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA), passed without opposition and gave Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) the authority to issue subpoenas for depositions and records.

On August 5, those subpoenas were formally issued. The Clintons are expected to testify in closed-door depositions later this fall:

Hillary Clinton is scheduled for October 9, 2025

Bill Clinton is scheduled for October 14, 2025

In addition to the Clintons, subpoenas were also issued to several former senior government officials, including:

Former FBI Directors James Comey and Robert Mueller

Former U.S. Attorneys General Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder, William Barr, Jeff Sessions, Merrick Garland, and Alberto Gonzales

The committee is also demanding the release of unredacted Department of Justice records related to the Epstein case. A deadline of August 19 has been set for compliance.

Context & Background
Jeffrey Epstein, a financier and convicted sex offender, was known for his close connections to powerful figures across politics, business, and entertainment. He died in federal custody in 2019 under suspicious circumstances while awaiting trial on multiple sex trafficking charges.

Bill Clinton’s name has previously surfaced in relation to Epstein, with flight logs showing that he traveled aboard Epstein’s private jet on multiple occasions in the early 2000s. While Clinton has denied any wrongdoing, the committee argues that unanswered questions remain about the nature of his interactions with Epstein and his associates.

Hillary Clinton’s subpoena, while not based on direct allegations of involvement, is focused on potential connections through political, legal, or campaign-related networks tied to Epstein’s circle, including Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted in 2021 for her role in Epstein’s operations.

⚖️ Political and Legal Implications
While the Clintons have not been charged with any crimes in relation to the Epstein case, their subpoena marks a sharp escalation in the political spotlight surrounding Epstein’s far-reaching network. Some lawmakers have criticized the Oversight Committee for focusing heavily on Democrats while not subpoenaing figures like former President Donald Trump, who also had past ties to Epstein.

Chairman Comer defended the move, stating, “The American people deserve full transparency into the institutions and individuals that may have failed to act in the face of heinous crimes.”

What’s Next?
The Clintons’ legal teams have yet to publicly respond to the subpoenas.

The Department of Justice must respond to records requests by August 19.

Depositions are scheduled to proceed in October.

Public hearings may follow if further evidence emerges.

This is a developing story. Stay with us for updates as depositions approach and additional information is released.
